Battlefield 6 Season 1, titled Rogue Ops, is arriving on October 28, and the new trailer lays out what players can expect: a fresh map, a round-based competitive mode, new guns, and an armored personnel carrier added to the vehicle roster.
The trailer spotlights the new map Blackwell Fields, a location some players already sampled in Battlefield Labs testing. Blackwell Fields appears to be designed for mixed engagements, featuring open fields and tighter compound fights, which should alter the feel of Conquest and more minor modes on rotation. For a sense of where it sits against the rest of the roster, see the team’s take on all Battlefield 6 maps.
One of the most significant gameplay additions is Strikepoint, a four-versus-four, no-respawn mode that borrows from Call of Duty’s Search and Destroy and Counter-Strike’s competitive rules. Matches hinge on careful play and round-level tactics, with a strong emphasis on positioning and utility over run-and-gun skirmishing.
Season 1 will be deployed in three phases, each delivering new content across the season rather than all at once. The trailer and accompanying notes list new weapons, including the SOR-300 carbine, the Mini Fix sniper rifle, and the GGH-22 sidearm, plus an APC vehicle that offers fresh options for armored support and transport.
The developers pushed a server-side progression update before the season to address slow unlock pacing. That change increased XP gains and shortened the time required to unlock attachments and assignments, helping players reach new gear sooner. Season 1 arrives after a series of more minor fixes and stability work, including an update aimed at backend stability ahead of the latest content cycle. For more on those pre-season fixes, see the stability patch notes here.
There are hints of more modes and systems still to come, with a recent datamine suggesting six additional game modes could be added in the future. That possibility will be watched closely as Rogue Ops rolls through its phased updates; read the datamine coverage on our site here.
