Riot Games revealed Veto as Valorant’s Agent 29 during the Paris leg of the 2025 Championship, and the Senegalese Sentinel will release on October 7, 2025. The character trailer arrived on October 5, and Riot describes Veto as an agent “empowered by an unstoppable DNA mutation.” He specializes in negating enemy utility while offering strong personal sustain.
Veto’s kit centers on disruption and survivability. He can place traps that hold and debuff enemies, teleport to placed devices, block or destroy other utility, and enter a mutation state that regenerates health and grants immunity to debuffs.
All four of Veto’s abilities were shown in the trailer. Descriptions below follow Riot’s reveal:
-
- Chokehold: Equip a viscous fragment of your mutation. Fire to throw. The fragment deploys upon impact, creating a trap to hold enemies in place. Held enemies are Deafened and Decayed. Enemies can destroy the trap before it is activated.
- Crosscut: Equip a vortex. Fire to place on the ground. While in range and looking at the vortex, Reactivate to teleport to the vortex. During the buy phase, the vortex can be reclaimed for redeployment.
- Interceptor: Equip an Interceptor. Fire to place the Interceptor at the projected location. Once placed, Reuse to activate. Once active, it will destroy any utility that would bounce off a player and/or be destroyed naturally be gunfire. Enemies can destroy the Interceptor.
- Evolution: Instantly begin to mutate fully, gaining a combat stim, regeneration, and becoming immune to all forms of debuffs.
Veto follows the recent addition of the custom game mode Skirmish, which allows 1v1 and 5v5 matches, giving players a place to test new agents and interactions before dropping into ranked. Veto looks built to upset ability-heavy lineups and reward aggressive, self-sustaining play. Try him in Skirmish first if you like breaking other people’s plans without having to explain yourself.
