Cheaters Flood Black Ops 7 Early Access Beta, Activision Issues Quick Bans

Early access Black Ops 7 beta sessions have recorded players using wall hacks and aimbots, even with TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enforced, and a larger RICOCHET anti-cheat update will arrive at launch in November.

Cheaters are already appearing in the Black Ops 7 beta, with short clips circulating that show wall hacks and auto-aiming in early matches. Developers have taken action against at least one offending account. Early access for the invite-only beta began in early October, and users quickly posted footage of suspicious play. One post from ModernWarzone on X showcased obvious wall-hopping and aim assist, prompting a developer response and a ban for the player in question.

Black Ops 7 requires PC players to have both TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled, which is intended to raise the bar for cheats on Windows machines. However, these measures have not entirely stopped the cheating issue. Activision plans a larger upgrade to Call of Duty’s RICOCHET Anti-Cheat at the game’s launch in November. The beta is being used to collect data on current cheat tools and behavior, allowing the studio to refine countermeasures for the full release.

The Black Ops 7 beta is in early access now and will run for invite-only players until October 5, 2025. It will then open to the general public and continue until October 8, 2025. For now, players should report suspected cheaters through the in-game tools so studios can log incidents and act during this testing window. If you have thoughts on how Activision should handle cheating or spotted suspicious play yourself, leave a comment and follow us on X and Bluesky. Your reports and discussion help shape how these launches go live.
