Battlefield 6 will end Conquest matches early if one team holds every flag

DICE adds a countdown that ends Conquest matches when a team caps all flags and the other team remains flagless; Battlefield 6 launches Oct. 10 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Battlefield 6 will stop matches where one team holds every flag and the other team has no spawn points left. When all flags are capped and the disadvantaged side remains flagless, a countdown appears, and the round ends if no flag is retaken.

The timer shows up during Conquest matches to prevent endless spawn camping after a full flag sweep. If the clock expires and the losing team still does not control a flag, the match will be called. An image shared by the developer shows the in-game countdown when this situation triggers.

Players have mixed feelings. Some welcome a faster exit from matches where their team is completely dominated. Others point out that being down every flag is not always the end, and there have been matches that swung back into a comeback. A repost of a Battlefield Intel tweet by content creator Flakfire prompted much of the conversation.

honestly, sort of a W? your team ain't coming back from that. https://t.co/Ea8UH1Iq5m

DICE can tweak how the timer works after launch, for example, by changing how long it runs or by adding additional conditions like a low ticket threshold before it can appear. The studio has already outlined other systems coming to Battlefield 6, including its own macro detection for Cronus cheaters on consoles and a refreshed aim assist system.
