FF14 is adding a baby Seikret minion as part of its Monster Hunter Wilds crossover, arriving in October. Square Enix confirmed the collab with Capcom, and players can expect the minion alongside other Wilds-themed rewards when the event goes live.
The cross-over will also hand out a Vigorwasp minion and a Seikret mount, so there will be more than one tiny companion to collect. The article calls the creature a freakishly adorable baby Seikret, which is fair given the screenshots. Some players wanted a Palico instead, a valid gripe since Palicos are iconic, but a Palico did previously arrive when Rathalos featured in Stormblood. The event ties directly to Monster Hunter Wilds and its aesthetics.
Details on the new trial were also revealed. The Windward Wilds trial pits players against Arkveld in a standard version that requires item level 725. As with the Rathalos fight, the White Wraith version scales up to an Extreme encounter and raises the requirement to item level 740. Players who need catch-up gear will likely spend some time on tomestone pieces, but crafted items can buy a shortcut for anyone with spare gil.
For those not invested in an extensive main story run, chasing the event rewards still looks doable with targeted gearing. Here are the other Wilds-themed FF14 rewards noted so far:
- Gear styled after the Hope set
- Arkveld weapons
- Seikret mount
- Several housing items
The preview also hints at extras like orchestrion rolls and a gallery of weapons that often come with these crossovers. RNG factors applied to earlier crossovers, like earning the Poogie or the Rathalos Palico by repeating an Extreme encounter, may return. Party Finder will probably see activity from players chasing the baby Seikret if it follows the same unlock pattern.
