The Skate system requirements from developer Full Circle and publisher EA have been posted, showing low minimum specs but a heavy reliance on upscaling to hit recommended and ultra targets. That matters because upscaling changes the raw GPU demands and the lack of Linux and macOS support limits compatibility for devices such as the Steam Deck.
The Skate system requirements table lists a modest minimum kit, clear recommended, and ultra tiers. Minimums require an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 460 with an Intel Core i5 6600K or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 and 8GB of RAM. Medium and recommended levels jump to cards like the RTX 2060 and RTX 3060 respectively.

The minimum requirements are approachable for many existing PCs, and the article points readers to graphics-buying advice. Recommended specs ask for an RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6600 XT paired with an Intel Core i7 9700 or Ryzen 5 3600 and 16GB of RAM. Ultra settings push to an RTX 3070 Ti or Radeon RX 6900 XT and 32GB of RAM. The download is modest at 25GB, and an SSD is not listed as required.
There is an explicit note from developer Full Circle that “Avg. performance estimates of recommended & ultra presets include use of optional upscaling at balanced settings.” Nvidia DLSS support is not present at the early access launch, so the upscaling referred to is likely AMD FSR or Intel XeSS. The difference matters because optional upscalers can change perceived quality and frame rates.
Platform support is narrow. Neither Linux nor macOS are listed, which has consequences for Skate on the Steam Deck and any SteamOS setups, and the publisher listing of EA anti-cheat suggests why. Share your thoughts in the comments and tell what stood out, then follow conversation on X and Bluesky.
