Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, developed by Questline, has received a substantial update in v1.1 that introduces New Game Plus, new dungeons, extra quests, and a stack of additional loot. The patch is available now, and the game is on a temporary 20% sale that runs until September 16.
When it launched, Tainted Grail earned praise for its unusual world and sharp questwriting. Sam Desatoff noted that NPCs and side quests add personality and unexpected moments in the Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon review. Questline has supported the game with intermittent updates since release, and the new update is the most substantial free expansion so far.
The headline addition is New Game Plus, which resets progression while letting players keep most endgame equipment and face more formidable foes at each NG+ level. The v1.1 patch also adds a first-person head-bobbing option and a transmogrification system to swap item appearances. Beyond quality-of-life changes, the update introduces three new dungeons, six extra quests, and more than a dozen items, including fresh weapons and armour sets.
Significant tuning has been applied to the game’s later stages: the third act gains three new caves and more plentiful loot to reward exploration. Armour receives debuffs per NG+ level, so repeated runs shift emphasis back onto player skill rather than pure gear. The transmogrification feature will be especially welcome for those who prefer a consistent aesthetic while chasing better stats.
Questline has also put Tainted Grail on sale at a 20% discount for a short period, cutting the price to $36. The reduced price runs through the sale window and makes the RPG easier to justify for players curious about its mix of exploration and narrative choices.
