College Football 26 just got a fresh roster update that adds more than 1,000 new players to the game. The update, said that version 1.008, went live on August 21 and should already be available on all platforms by now. If you’re into college football sims, this patch is worth checking out.
What’s cool is that it is about new faces. Along with the freshmen recruits, the update adjusts height and weight for specific players, like Florida State’s Ousmane Kormah. You might notice team logos appearing on backplates now, too, which is a neat little touch.
Curious about who got added? Well, the complete list isn’t laid out in the patch notes, but you can find all players in EA’s official player database. It’s packed with over 10,300 real-life college football players, so it’s a massive resource.
If you want a more team-focused breakdown, TeamCrafters sorts players by their schools, which makes browsing a lot easier. Not every school’s players made it into this update, though, so don’t freak out if your favorite team is missing some names. Hopefully, future updates will fill in those gaps.
One thing to note: all the freshmen added show up as one-star recruits. That might sound like a bummer, but it doesn’t seem to limit their skill caps or overall ratings. So maybe that’s just a placeholder or a way to keep things balanced early on.
