Lords of the Fallen 2 has been officially revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, promising a fresh souls-like experience from CI Games. The sequel is scheduled for release in 2026, and the reveal trailer offers a glimpse of brutal combat and a dark fantasy world split into two realms.
August has been quite a month for fans of Lords of the Fallen. Earlier, the original game saw a permanent price cut of over 50% on consoles across all platforms. Shortly after, the sequel was confirmed, and now we have the official unveiling to look at.
Lords of the Fallen 2 Reveal Trailer Features New Gory Combat
The trailer describes Lords of the Fallen II as a “dark fantasy action-RPG where brutal, soulslike combat meets a world splitting at its core.” Players will battle against darkness in an epic adventure across a shattered kingdom, spanning one world and two realms, with no mercy.
Wow, that sounds intense. Will the dual realms bring interesting gameplay mechanics? It’s hard not to be curious about how this split world will work in practice.
About Lords of the Fallen
For those who haven’t tried the first game yet, it’s a souls-like RPG where players journey through two interconnected worlds preparing to overthrow the demon God Adyr. There are over 100 weapons to master, plus devastating magic abilities to face a variety of enemies and bosses.
One of the more interesting features of the original game is its current game modifier system. It lets players customize their experience by adjusting things like enemy density, randomized loot, pre-upgraded weapons, and even permadeath. There are nine classes, each with distinct skill trees and upgrades. Online co-op mode is also available, which adds some social fun to the challenge.
Have you tried the first game? It’s kinda underrated in the souls-like genre, but it has some neat ideas that stand out.
