War Thunder has released update 2.47.0.112, which tackles several frustrating bugs affecting aircraft behavior, the interface, and mission locations. These fixes aim to smooth out gameplay moments that might have felt off, like slow takeoffs or weapon selection troubles on gamepads.
One of the key fixes involves aircraft acceleration. Some planes either struggled to start accelerating on the runway or took off slowly, accompanied by odd scratching sounds. That glitch has been resolved, so planes should now respond as expected when you’re ready to lift off. It’s a relief for anyone who’s ever sat on the runway wondering why their plane wasn’t moving correctly.
Interface improvements focus on the visual weapon selector when using a gamepad. Previously, some players couldn’t pick weapons through this selector, and the pinned selector wouldn’t remember its open state if triggered via the action bar. Both issues have been fixed, which should make switching weapons during intense moments a bit less frustrating.
Mission and location tweaks include a fix for the Bering Sea boat,s where ships spawned facing the wrong direction at one spawn point. That’s been corrected, so naval battles should feel more natural now. Also, puddles that appeared on runways in Poland (winter), Finland, Volokolamsk, and Frozen Pass have been removed, tidying up those maps visually and perhaps improving aircraft handling on those surfaces.
Another necessary correction involves premium aircraft and mission points. Previously, premium planes earned 20% more mission points for damaging or destroying bases compared to non-premium planes. This bug has been fixed, but the rewards in Silver Lions and research points remain unchanged. It’s a subtle but fair adjustment to the scoring system.
Patch notes cover only the main changes, so there might be smaller tweaks players haven’t noticed yet. Gaijin continues to listen to the community through their bug reporting service and forums, prioritizing fixes that impact gameplay the most.
