Players have been saying Battlefield 6 feels faster, especially when it comes to movement, but actual sprint speed numbers tell a different story. Sprinting in this latest entry is not the quickest compared to previous games in the franchise. That might surprise some folks who expected it to be blazing fast.
Let’s look at some hard data. YouTuber SMK Gaming made a video comparing sprint speeds across recent Battlefield games. The comparison focuses on the fastest your character can run, factoring in perks or equipment that boost speed, like the Sprint perk in Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, or the Tactical Sprint in Battlefield 2042. For Battlefield 6, the sprint speed was measured with the knife equipped, which lets you run faster than if you’re carrying a weapon or gadget.
Battlefield Sprint Speeds Compared
# | Game & Condition | m/s | km/h | mph | TIME [s] |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | BATTLEFIELD 2042 (Tactical Sprint) | 7.25 | 26.1 | 16.2 | 13.80 |
2 | BATTLEFIELD 4 (Sprint Perk) | 7.15 | 25.7 | 16.0 | 13.99 |
2 | BATTLEFIELD 3 (Sprint Perk) | 7.15 | 25.7 | 16.0 | 13.99 |
4 | BATTLEFIELD 6 (Knife Equipped) | 7.12 | 25.6 | 15.9 | 14.04 |
5 | BATTLEFIELD HARDLINE | 6.75 | 24.3 | 15.1 | 14.81 |
6 | BATTLEFIELD 2042 | 6.50 | 23.4 | 14.5 | 15.38 |
6 | BATTLEFIELD 4 | 6.50 | 23.4 | 14.5 | 15.38 |
6 | BATTLEFIELD 3 | 6.50 | 23.4 | 14.5 | 15.38 |
9 | BATTLEFIELD 1 | 6.04 | 21.7 | 13.5 | 16.56 |
9 | BATTLEFIELD V | 6.04 | 21.7 | 13.5 | 16.56 |
11 | BATTLEFIELD 6 | 5.99 | 21.6 | 13.4 | 16.69 |
See? Battlefield 6 actually ranks below some older games like Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 when it comes to sprint speed. It does have a sliding move, but it’s not game-breaking. No bunny hopping either, so if you’re not into movement tricks, you’ll be just fine.
Honestly, I never felt Battlefield 6 was faster than other military shooters. Maybe years of playing Call of Duty has made me numb to those rapid movements. What about you? Do you think the sprint speed feels right or off in some way?
By the way, the open beta’s second week for Battlefield 6 is live now. You can jump in for free, test the sprint speeds yourself, and check out new maps and modes. DICE also added a “Custom Search” filter and a playlist schedule until the beta ends.
There’s also a community challenge where players need to deal $1 trillion worth of damage collectively to unlock a weapon skin for the final game. That’s quite a target, huh?
Battlefield 6 will release on October 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
