Epic Games quietly released a surprise update for Fortnite on August 14, preparing to fix crashes and various bugs without adding any new content. This patch, version 4.79, comes after the recent major update in Chapter 6, Season 4, and targets stability issues that have been bothering players.
Expect a small download size for this update. It’s all about smoothing out gameplay and addressing problems across different modes. Wonder why they didn’t announce it? Maybe they just wanted to get these fixes out quickly without fuss.
One big impact of the crashes was on the Divisional Cups, which had to be rescheduled:
- OCE, ASIA: August 16, 17, and 18
- All other regions: August 14, 16, and 18
Curious what else is being tackled? Here’s a rundown straight from the official Fortnite Trello board. Some bugs said that as “Fixed in a Future Update” might already be handled by this patch, but Epic hasn’t updated the board yet.
