War Thunder just got a patch that irons out some annoying bugs with aircraft weapons, naval reload times, and even graphics on lower settings. It might not be a massive overhaul, but these fixes should smooth out some frustrating gameplay moments.
Aircraft players have had a few headaches with weapon switching lately. The update fixes a bug where the first weapon change via hotkey didn’t switch weapons but just showed a “Weapon selector enabled” message. Another glitch that prevented the ammo count from updating correctly in the pinned Visual weapon selector is now sorted. Also, pressing “Esc” used to close both the weapon selection and multi-function menus at once, which was a bit annoying if you only wanted to back out of one. That’s fixed too. Lastly, the number of equipped weapon pods now correctly matches what you see in the Visual weapon selector, no more mismatched info.
Naval battles got a tweak as well. There was a bug causing reload times to increase whenever you tried to put out fires on your ship. Imagine fighting and suddenly your guns slow down just because you’re dousing flames, yikes! Thankfully, that’s been fixed.
On the graphics side, players running the game on minimum or low settings will notice better horizon and mountain peak rendering. It’s a subtle change, but one that helps the visuals feel a bit less rough when you can’t crank everything up.
Overall, this patch is about smoothing out rough edges rather than adding new content. It’s clear the devs are listening to the community’s bug reports and ironing out issues in order of importance, which is always a good sign.
