Albion Online Reverts Abyssal Depths Mob Leash Changes in Hotfix 2.1

Hotfix 2.1 rolls back shortened mob leash range following player feedback and issues.

Albion Online just pushed out the Abyssal Depths Hotfix 2.1, reversing a recent change to mob leash ranges that didn’t quite sit well with the community. The developers aimed to make open-world travel and PvP in the Depths more comfortable, but it appears that the tweak needs further refinement before it takes hold.

What Changed?

  • The shortened leash range for mobs in Abyssal Depths has been reverted.
  • This rollback comes after players reported issues and shared their feedback, prompting the developers to pause and rethink.
  • The original intention behind the leash range reduction was to ease open-world movement and PvP encounters.

It’s a classic case of a change that sounds good on paper but feels off in practice. The devs want to get it right, so expect further adjustments down the line as they polish the experience.

Wondering why leash ranges matter? If mobs chase you too far, traveling becomes a nightmare. Too short, and PvP dynamics might shift unexpectedly. Balancing that line is tricky, especially in a game as player-driven as Albion Online.

Will the next hotfix nail it? Your guess is as good as mine, but the developers seem committed to listening to the community’s voice.
