The First Berserker: Khazan just got a hefty update across all platforms. Neople is giving players a “Thank-You” gift alongside a bunch of balance adjustments and quality-of-life improvements that might actually make your missions feel less frustrating.
What’s New in The First Berserker: Khazan Update?
Here’s a quick rundown of the update highlights:
- Thank-You Gift for eligible players
- Balance changes to consumables and items
- System improvements including new gear upgrade and scaling systems
- UI/UX and overall quality-of-life tweaks
- Bug fixes targeting gameplay and platform-specific issues
Thank-You Gift: Pathfinder-Exclusive HUD
Players who qualify for the Pathfinder Package will receive a special HUD theme. You can toggle it in Settings > Accessibility > HUD > HUD Theme. If you don’t have the reward, this option will be disabled. It’s a nice little something to show appreciation, don’t you think?
Balance Adjustments
Consumables
Some consumables have had their rarity changed to better match their value. For example, Vitality Shard and Tome dropped from Uncommon (Blue) to Common (White), while the Escort Order and a long list of journals and letters have been upgraded from Common to distinct (Red). The visual effects when you find these items will also reflect these changes.
Items and Missions
- New gear enhancement materials like Subtle, Shining, and Radiant Golden Cubes are added.
- Recipe items will now only appear after unlocking Blacksmith Qazumaka’s crafting features.
- Consumable placements have been reworked to include more immediately usable ones, and some rarely used consumables were removed.
- Monster combat has been adjusted to ease difficulty spikes and reduce repetitive layouts in many missions, including Mount Heinmach, Stormpass, and the Imperial Palace.
System Changes
Kaleido Box Updates
A new gear upgrade system lets you improve your gear’s base stats using Gold and special materials. Upgrade materials come in tiers:
- Subtle Golden Cube: upgrades Rare to Unique
- Shining Golden Cube: upgrades Unique to Epic
- Radiant Golden Cube: upgrades Epic to Legendary
You can find these upgrade materials during missions or by dismantling high-tier weapons. Upgrading requires more Gold the higher your gear’s tier and level.
Convert Scaling System
This new system lets you reroll weapon scaling stats using Gold and Convert Scaling materials like Lesser Gleamstone, Gleamstone, and Greater Gleamstone. Each material tier offers different scaling option ranges from B to A tier stats. This should help players tailor their weapons better, if they’re into that kind of tinkering.
Other Changes
- The Lacrima of Circulation changed from a crafting material to a consumable, and can now be sold in shops.
Quality-of-Life Improvements
Skill Tree and Encyclopedia
Accessing skills and combo guides is smoother now. New control inputs let you jump directly from the Skill Tree to the Skills tab in the Encyclopedia and vice versa. Unlocking new combo guides will also notify you with alert icons on the main menu. It’s these small things that make fiddling with builds less of a hassle!
