Dune: Awakening players are furious right now. They are currently dealing with a frustrating issue where hackers use a glitch involving carrier ornithopters to hijack vehicles. This exploit has led to hundreds of reports over the past weeks, turning survival servers into battlegrounds of unfair play.
Fortunately for everyone Funcom is aware of the problem and has been urged to take action. SpooN04 has become a vocal figure on Reddit in the fight against these hijackers, sharing video evidence and repeatedly reporting the incidents to Funcom’s customer service. You can find the post below:

Player-Led Efforts Highlight Hijacking Exploit
On the r/duneawakening subreddit, SpooN04 posted videos showing a carrier ornithopter swooping down, latching onto another ornithopter mid-air, dragging it across the desert, and killing the player. This unusual method of vehicle theft has been reported since near the launch, with many players experiencing similar attacks.
After persistent baiting and sacrificing ornithopters to gather proof, SpooN04 received a response from Funcom indicating they have seen the evidence and intend to ban offending players. Although no official ban confirmations have been made, some players have reported vague optimistic replies from customer service.
“The hackers have not been on since then,” SpooN04 noted. “It’s too soon to confirm anything, but if they are really gone, I will be making a post to celebrate the victory and give credit to Funcom for stepping in.”
Ongoing Issues Plague Dune: Awakening
Vehicle hijacking is just one of several problems affecting Dune: Awakening. A recent patch mistakenly switched a PvE zone to PvP without warning, leading to a wave of base raids and lost progress for many players. Also, speedhacks that boost vehicle speeds have also been reported, further tilting PvP encounters.
Despite these setbacks, SpooN04 stays hopeful about the game’s future and the community.
“Please don’t let negative posts on reddit (including mine) paint the full picture of DD. Other than these hackers, I have been thoroughly enjoying my time, even if it is barren, because the community out there is actually great.”
“I wouldn’t be making these posts, fighting back against the hackers, if there wasn’t something worth saving. There’s some magic in DD.“
Funcom’s response to these issues will be crucial in determining whether Dune: Awakening can regain stability and trust among its players.
