After half a decade of work, the Medal of Honor: Airborne Redux 2.0 mod has finally been released. It introduces over 120 tweaks, fixes, and gameplay changes that aim to refine the experience of this classic WWII shooter.

The Redux Mod is designed to fix some of the original game’s awkward mechanics, like its low field of view and clunky leaning and walking controls. It also shifts the Campaign difficulty toward a more tactical experience, moving away from the arcade-style approach that made it feel a bit too easy and simplistic, similar to early Call of Duty titles.

Version 2.0 rebalances difficulty settings and labels them more clearly for players who might be new to the game. The update adds an optional patch to uncensor the game on Steam and Origin versions, plus it now supports a variety of aspect ratios, including 3:2, all three 21:9 formats, and 48:9. Full gamepad support via Steam Input is included, which should please those who prefer controllers.

The modder, known as ‘IDrinkLava,’ also improved keyboard and mouse controls to feel more natural, especially for players accustomed to certain key layouts. Weapon behavior has been adjusted, too, with changes to recoil and damage output. Leaning and peeking are now faster, allowing you to see more around corners. New scope graphics aim for a more realistic look, and the health bar has been redesigned.

Redux 2.0 removes some arcade-like HUD elements, such as the True Trigger meter and scope zoom meter. Enemy sniper accuracy has been fixed to feel fairer. There’s also a beta “fire selector” feature that lets you switch some guns to semi-automatic firing mode, which adds a bit more control over engagements.

For Medal of Honor: Airborne fans who want a more grounded and smoother gameplay experience, this mod is worth a shot. It breathes new life into an older game by addressing many quirks and improving controls and visuals.
