The next big Warzone update is coming soon, and it’s packed with some pretty cool stuff. Season 5 is expected to launch on Thursday, August 7, 2025, potentially shaking things up with new weapons, Operators, and some nostalgic map tweaks. If you’ve been keeping an eye on Verdansk, you might want to pay close attention to what’s about to unfold.
Season 5 Launch Date
Season 5 is scheduled to start as soon as the Season 4 Battle Pass wraps up on August 7, 2025. Usually, Call of Duty seasons follow this pattern, kicking off right after the previous one ends, but keep in mind there’s still a chance the devs might tweak the timing.
Verdansk Stadium will Reopen
Dataminer Reality dropped some juicy info hinting that the Verdansk Stadium will open again with this update. This is a nice callback to the current Warfare Season 5 update from five years ago, so it looks like a throwback vibe might be on the way. Also, there’s talk of a new Easter egg tied to the Stadium’s reopening.

If you remember, the original Verdansk had locked rooms around the Stadium that you could unlock with keycards and codes. It seems the devs might bring back that mystery element. We already have a few Easter eggs around, like Bunker 11 and the Overlook safe room, so this could add even more layers to the map.
Leaked Weapons to Watch For
Season 5 is rumored to introduce some cool new weapons, with the MP40 making a comeback. This SMG is a fan favorite and has appeared in several Call of Duty titles before. Plus, there are some unexpected additions like Boxing Gloves and a Chainsaw as melee weapons. Oh, and there’s also a mysterious ‘Wand’ weapon found in the files – no idea if it’s a literal magic wand or just a codename for something else. Kinda wild, right?

Keep in mind, these weapons might not all drop at launch. Some could arrive later in Season 6 or even tie into the upcoming Black Ops 7.
What Else Season 5 Might Bring
Beyond leaks, the usual suspects will probably show up: a new Battle Pass, fresh Operators, updated perks and equipment, some returning or new game modes, in-game events, and weapon balance changes. If you’re into Black Ops 6, its own Season 5 update is confirmed to deliver the final Zombies map, set in Janus Towers, but details are still under wraps.
