The lineup for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2025 has been announced, featuring some of the biggest names in the Japanese gaming industry. PlayStation, Sega, and Square Enix are among the confirmed exhibitors, which is always interesting for fans eager to catch previews and announcements.

The event will take place from September 25 to 28 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Sony Interactive Entertainment plans to appear in both the Family Game Area and the Indie Game Area. The Family Game Area presence is likely connected to promoting Astro Bot, especially since new DLC is scheduled to release this week. As for the Indie Game Area, Sony has in the past partnered with smaller developers at such events, offering those indie games a chance to be showcased on a PlayStation-branded booth. I’m curious what surprises might pop up there this time around…

Other notable exhibitors include Kojima Productions, Capcom, and others, all will participate in the event’s extensive merchandise area. This section usually features exclusive items that can’t be found outside the show, which always adds a bit of charm for collectors and fans.

The Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association, which organizes the event, has also revealed the featured artwork for this year’s show. The illustration was created by Zashiki Warashi, who shared their gratitude and excitement about contributing to such a prestigious event. The artwork will be displayed at the venue and used in promotional materials leading up to the event.

“I drew it with a feeling of gratitude towards those involved in game production. I put my heart into it despite the pressure of such a prestigious event like TGS. I would be happy if visitors to TGS enjoy it even a little!” Warashi said.

If you want to get a glimpse of the atmosphere, here’s the official Tokyo Game Show 2025 trailer:

It’s always a treat to see what these big players bring to the table. Will PlayStation reveal new indie collaborations? Might Sega or Square Enix tease upcoming projects? It’s a good question and one I’m looking forward to seeing answered in September. What do you hope to see from these companies at the Tokyo Game Show 2025?
