Wall Running Surfaces in Black Ops 6, Hinting at Possible Return in Call of Duty 2025

Dataminers find wall running in Black Ops 6 files, suggesting it may come back in next CoD installment.

Recent discoveries by Call of Duty data miners have revealed wall-running mechanics hidden within Black Ops 6 and Warzone files. This could mean that the feature, prevalent in earlier titles like Black Ops 3 and current Warfare, might come back in the next Black Ops game, expected in 2025.

Black Ops 6 introduced a fresh movement system called omnimovement, which allows sprinting in all directions along with flashy jumps and slides. However, it stopped short of reintroducing the jetpack-style mobility seen in previous games. Wall running, a fan-favorite mechanic where players can run along vertical surfaces, was notably absent until now.

Wall Running Found in Black Ops 6 Ahead of Call of Duty 2025

On May 18, videos appeared on TikTok showing players performing wall runs in Black Ops 6. Although these clips show an early or rough version of the mechanic, players can jump toward walls and run along them, making map traversal quicker and more dynamic.

Similar clips have also emerged featuring Warzone, though it’s unclear if wall running is usable in live matches or limited to private lobbies. A well-known leaker, CALL OF DUTY WARFARE, shared a screenshot from the Season 3 Reloaded update showing code labeled “AllowWallRun.” This suggests the feature was deliberately added, possibly as a test for future use.

While the exact reason for including wall running in Black Ops 6 files remains unknown, it’s reasonable to think it’s preparation for the next game. Leaks indicate that Call of Duty 2025 will be a sequel to Black Ops 2 and feature an upgraded omnimovement system. A “more realistic” version of wall running has been mentioned in earlier leaks from November 2024 by TheGhostOfHope.

There are also rumors that Black Ops 7 will remake every Black Ops 2 map, similar to how current Warfare 3 revisited original MW2 maps. If wall running returns, it will be interesting to see if maps are adjusted to accommodate this added mobility.

Of course, none of this is official yet, so it’s best to take these findings cautiously. The upcoming Season 4 update for Black Ops 6, scheduled for May 29, might reveal more hidden features as dataminers continue their work.
