IShowSpeed Swatted During KFC Stream as Police Misinterpret His Actions

YouTube streamer IShowSpeed experienced a distressing moment during a recent KFC stream when police arrived responding to a swatting call. The incident highlights the risks streamers face when authorities misunderstand their content.

On May 5, IShowSpeed reunited with fellow streamer Cuffem inside a KFC. After leaving to visit a nearby hair salon, sirens quickly filled the area as multiple police officers arrived, detaining some people nearby. The streamer then tried to explain the situation to the officers.

While waiting to speak with the police, IShowSpeed told his viewers that such incidents make him hesitant to do IRL streams. He said, “I get swatted every time I do sh*t in America.” Eventually, he showed the officers his live stream, explaining he was a well-known content creator simply enjoying a meal.

The police revealed they had received a call reporting someone jumping on the counter and brandishing a gun. Although IShowSpeed did jump on the counter—something he often does during his food streams- he was not armed. When asked why he was on the counter, he replied, “Because the food was good,” which left the officers puzzled since they were unfamiliar with his style.

After a few minutes, IShowSpeed was allowed to leave. However, swatting remains a dangerous prank, with past incidents resulting in serious harm or death. The FBI has promised to take action against swatting following a series of attacks on streamers earlier this year.

This was not IShowSpeed’s first experience with swatting. In 2022, law enforcement showed up at his home during a live stream, leading to him being handcuffed on camera.
