Arthur Morgan Voices the Need for a 60 FPS Patch in Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 remains one of Rockstar Games’ favorite titles since its release nearly seven years ago, yet it still lacks an official 60 frames per second (FPS) update, a feature many players have long hoped to see. Even though the game has sold over 70 million copies and holds a special place in gamers’ hearts, Rockstar’s focus has shifted primarily toward Grand Theft Auto 6, leaving RDR2 largely untouched regarding performance enhancements.

This ongoing situation sparked fresh attention recently when Roger Clark, the voice behind Arthur Morgan, publicly acknowledged the demand for a next-gen patch featuring 60 FPS. His involvement adds a surprising twist to the conversation about whether Rockstar will revisit Red Dead Redemption 2’s technical improvements anytime soon.

Campaigns and Community Frustration: Save Red Dead Online and Single-Player Support

A few years back, players launched campaigns urging Rockstar to “save Red Dead Online,” which had seen only sporadic updates as developer efforts heavily favored GTA Online. The online multiplayer mode of Grand Theft Auto received countless expansions, while both GTA V and its online component enjoyed multiple enhanced editions across platforms. Meanwhile, single-player content—including the core experience of RDR2—was mostly left as-is with no large upgrades or patches addressing performance or visuals.

Fans didn’t escape the irony when Rockstar rolled out a smooth 60 FPS update for the original Red Dead Redemption (2010), reissued on current systems. That move only amplified calls for similar treatment of its sequel.

Roger Clark took to social media, writing:
