VALORANT Patch 10.04 is here, and it’s packing a punch! With the arrival of a new duelist, Waylay, and significant tweaks to existing agents, there’s plenty for players to unpack. Plus, some classic maps are returning while others take their leave. Let’s get into the nitty-gritty!
Welcome to the Waylay Era
Meet Waylay, the latest duelist hailing from Thailand. This character seems poised to shake up the meta with her light-bending abilities that promise to disrupt enemy strategies. If you’ve ever found Jett annoying, prepare for a potential rival in Waylay!
Here’s what you need to know about Waylay’s abilities:
- Refract: Deploys a light beacon on the ground. Reactivating it allows you to return as an invulnerable mote of light—think of it as Yoru’s Gatecrash but with a twist.
- Light Speed: A double dash reminiscent of Jett’s mechanic, perfect for jumping over walls or diving into sites during executes.
- Saturate: Tosses a cluster of light that explodes on impact, applying the Hinder effect, which slows down enemy fire rate, movement speed, and more.
- Convergent Paths: Her ultimate creates a beam of light that boosts Waylay’s speed while hindering enemies caught in its wake.
VALORANT 10.04 Changes
This patch also adjusts balance for Clove, Tejo, Iso, and Deadlock. Let’s break down how these agents have been tweaked.
Clove
The cooldown on Clove’s Ruse smokes has increased from 30 to 40 seconds. Additionally, Meddle now explodes faster after hitting the ground, and Pick Me Up’s health buff duration has been extended from eight seconds to ten seconds, but it comes at a cost with reduced move speed duration.
Deadlock
No longer costing money at the start of rounds, Deadlock’s GravNet now comes with a rechargeable cooldown of 40 seconds and has shrunk slightly in size from 16m to 13m. Meanwhile, Barrier Mesh now requires 400 credits.
Iso
Iso now only gets one charge for his undercut ability but gains both suppression and vulnerability effects. Also noteworthy is that he will always have Double Tap applied when winning duels during his Kill Contract ultimate.
Tejo
The damage output for Tejo’s Guided Salvo missiles has been adjusted to deal 65 points of damage while halving damage against non-player objects—this change prevents him from destroying Killjoy’s Lockdown so easily.
VALORANT 10.04 Map Changes
The map pool is getting an overhaul in this act! Abyss and Bind are out, making room for Asecent and Icebox back in. Notably, Ascent returns with revamped B Main wall reinforcement aimed at curtailing unhealthy gameplay patterns that frustrate many players.
