The gaming world is talking with excitement as Konami and Bloober Team, the masterminds behind the acclaimed remake of Silent Hill 2, have announced their next big project. What could it be? A new entry in the storied Silent Hill series, or perhaps an entirely new endeavor?
The success of Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2, which garnered rave reviews and a solid Metacritic score of 87 on PC and 86 on PS5, has paved the way for this renewed partnership. The studio has confirmed they will work closely with Konami again but are keeping details under wraps. “The trust built upon the success of Silent Hill 2 laid the foundation for signing another agreement for a new project,” they stated in a press release.
The cryptic nature of their announcement raises questions. While many speculate that we might see another iteration within the chilling confines of Silent Hill, Bloober’s official statement only mentions “a new game based on Konami’s IP.” Could this mean something outside of what we’ve grown to expect from them?
Pitior Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, said: “Our collaboration with Konami has been incredibly fruitful, and the success of Silent Hill 2 speaks for itself.” He added that both teams were eager to share more once everything was finalized. It sounds like there could be some surprises waiting in store!
If you thought that was all Bloober had cooking, think again! The team is also gearing up for another game, Cronos: The New Dawn, set in the eerie backdrop of plague-ridden Communist Poland during the ’80s. This one promises its own distinct blend of atmosphere, and it’s definitely a title to look out for.
