Well, folks, it’s official. The final bell has rung for WWE 2K23, and the game’s servers have been taken offline permanently. If you were hoping to step into the ring for one last online match or check out those Community Creations then you’ll need to jump into offline modes from now on.
Released in March 2023, this title was a wild ride that fans had high hopes for. But like a wrestling career that ends too soon, its time in the spotlight has sadly ended. After being delisted from digital storefronts back in November 2024, the announcement of its server shutdown didn’t exactly shock anyone who’d been following along.
2K Games broke the news last September that January 6, 2025 would be when everything comes crashing down, no more online matches or community content after that date. It’s like watching your favorite wrestler take a tough loss; you just want to shout at the screen!
If you already own WWE 2K23, you can still enjoy all those offline modes! So grab your controller and unleash those finishing moves against AI opponents. You’ve got options even if multiplayer is off the table.
What makes this shutdown sting a bit more is how short-lived WWE 2K23’s online support was, just under 22 months! For comparison WWE 19‘s servers lasted almost four years before they went dark. Don’t forget that WWE 2K24’s fifth and final main DLC pack dropped in November. It’s worth checking out if you’re craving more wrestling action!
