We’re coming close to a brand new year, and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably looking forward to cozy gaming sessions with a warm drink in hand. Something about winter makes those virtual adventures feel even warmer, right? This week in ICARUS, we’ve got some exciting updates that might make your next session feel like a fresh start.
The team has been busy converting more Olympus missions into operations so players can tackle them in Open World mode. How cool is that? It opens up the world of ICARUS even more for everyone, whether you’re jumping back in after some time off or still getting your feet wet with all the gameplay options.
Known Issue – Clients Unable to Fire WeaponsWe have discovered an issue to do with ranged weapons not firing for clients when players are connecting to a friend who is hosting or a dedicated server. This only seems to be occurring on older prospects with existing weapons; crafting new weapons works until you rejoin the session. As we cannot completely test this as it is during our holiday period, we have set up a build on the Experimental Branch with a potential fix.
Warning this is not fully tested and will include some content which will be released in future weeks.
This Week: Olympus Operations II
This week brings us some brand new conversions from those classic Olympus missions—just perfect for kicking off the New Year! Here’s what’s been added:
- FORSAKEN
- ACCUMULATION
- POTSHOT
- ARGICULTURE
- PRESERVATION
- INCURSION
- SEVEN PILLARS
- SANDBOX
- CRYOGENIC
You know what they say: oldies but goodies! These updates allow newer players who’ve mostly played Open World to take on some original content that launched alongside ICARUS, complete with tweaks here and there. I can’t wait to see how these changes breathe new life into familiar challenges!
