Picture this: you’re deep into a gaming session, and whispers of loot boxes suddenly start swirling around your favorite title. Well, that’s the vibe with Marvel Rivals. A recent leak has spilled some beans about loot boxes that were axed from the game, and it’s got us all raising our eyebrows and maybe even rolling up our sleeves to speculate.
A prominent leaker, RivalsLeaks, took to X to share insights about these canceled loot boxes. According to their findings, players could have encountered loot boxes categorized by rarity, such as Gray, Blue, Purple, Yellow, and Red. The Gray tier would be the least rare and might have offered something like a recolor of existing skins. The process for snagging these treasures? Players must convert Lattice and Units into Crystallization (the main currency) and Marscoin (a blue currency). With that in hand, they’d pull for skins, including emotes, player cards, sprays, you name it! However, here’s where it gets interesting: these boxes were rumored to be time-bound. Could they have tied into a special limited-time event? That remains shrouded in mystery.
Naturally, RivalsLeaks wasn’t claiming infallibility; they mentioned that they could be reading too much into things based on file information alone. They even hinted at the possibility of these loot boxes returning someday. Who knows?
There’s good news if you’re curious about how Marvel Rivals is faring outside of this loot box drama! The game recently celebrated a milestone of 20 million players with a free reward.
