If you missed it, Enshrouded just had its second official Reddit AMA, and let me tell you, it was packed with juicy details! If you’re not the biggest fan of Reddit (totally valid), don’t worry! You can also check out all the questions and answers on their website: https://enshrouded.com/news/ama-2-recap. Seriously, take a look at this!
And finally, here are some highlights of our favorite questions, enjoy!
Will we get an awesome roadmap for 2025 like the one we had this year? Loving the game and the support you have been providing.
We’re happy that you love the game! We also love working together with Enshrouded’s wonderful community. Rest assured that we are already working full force on the roadmap for 2025. We plan to post some news around the end of January.
What is your typical day at work? Do you place every piece by hand or use assets for towns or houses? Coffee or tea?
Jonas: We have people working in the office as well as many people working remotely so there is a big range – what all have in common is a daily meeting to get aligned and then I’d say the typical day is quite focused and productive nowadays since there are fewer newly-developed features which require lots of research and going back and forth. We have a system called “Whiteboxes” that select from a pool of asset options, but when it comes to more important entities it’s mostly handplaced to fit the location. Water for me, thanks.
TopCat: I’m mostly working remotely from home nowadays. Aside from needed brainstorming meetings and planning tasks, we mostly work directly on the topology of the world and creating or polishing already existing POIs. Most of those defining assets are placed by hand to ensure maximum quality. For less important parts like furniture, plants, and loot locations, we use our “Whiteboxes”. For me it’s tea 🙂
Maracujahah: I do hybrid, depending on the day… Coffee all the way!
Toast: I don’t build houses, just Reddit posts like this one 😅 And tea!
How do you create so much content on such big maps? Can you talk about tooling a bit?
Jonas: This process is so intriguing! There’s an older video on our YouTube channel. Usually, when tackling a new biome, it begins with rough modeling—it’s like sculpting clay but digitally. It’s super fun how fast things come together using our voxel engine.
Atlantikus:Hello Keen team! First off—thank YOU! This game rocks my socks off. How much time has passed since players were sealed away until Embervale succumbed to Shroud?
TopCat:The timeline is purposely vague but we’re generally looking at about 20-30 years during which humans still struggled against Shroud attacks.
The_Nights_Path: I’m curious about how big will be world size after early access?
You know what? All these insights really give us hope for what’s coming next in Enshrouded. With their commitment to expanding gameplay elements while keeping us engaged through lore exploration, I’m itching to see where they’ll take us next.
