Do you ever feel that when you hear your favorite band is dropping a new album? Like an electric tingle mingled with just a hint of anticipation and dread? Strap in because the creators behind one of gaming’s most favorite titles, The Witcher 3, are back at it! Polish studio Rebel Wolves is preparing for a reveal next month that’s bound to shake things up.
This Warsaw-based team was co-founded in 2022 by some heavyweights from the witching world, specifically the game and art directors who brought us Geralt’s epic journey. They’re looking to release something new that they’re calling the Dawnwalker series. Sounds intriguing, right?
Their first chapter? Titled The Blood of Dawnwalker, another run-of-the-mill RPG, we’re talking about a “dark fantasy narrative sandbox action RPG” that promises to weave story and lore into every crevice. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, it will grace our screens on multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Make a note for January 13 at 4 pm ET / 9 pm GMT because that’s when Bandai Namco will host a reveal event that lasts around 45 minutes. Get ready to “gather round and see how medieval, 14th-century Europe confronts legends through the eyes of Dawnwalker.” I mean, how can you not be hyped about that?
During this showcase, we’ll learn about Vale Sangora, its turbulent history (because what dark fantasy world doesn’t have one?), landscapes, and oh-so-secret inhabitants. A CGI trailer will serve as the game’s opening scene, a cinematic appetizer, a sneak peek into gameplay elements, and discussions on lore and narrative concepts.
I don’t know about you, but I’m counting the days until we get more details about this new venture from some of my favorite developers.
