You know that feeling when you’re all geared up for something epic, only to find out it’s not happening? Well, Delta Force fans might be experiencing just that. In a recent Reddit AMA, Game Director Shadow Guo was crystal clear: don’t hold your breath for a Battle Royale mode.
Guo didn’t mince words when asked about the possibility of joining the BR craze that’s taken over gaming like an unstoppable wave. “We don’t have such plans for now as our primary focus is on Operations and Warfare,” he stated, effectively putting the kibosh on any hopes of parachuting into a last-man-standing showdown anytime soon.
Instead of chasing trends, Guo pointed toward something much more exciting, the upcoming Black Hawk Down campaign mode. Now we’re talking! Multiplayer iteration is a nostalgic nod to classic Delta Force titles set in the 90s. You can practically hear the iconic theme music playing in the background as Guo describes their intent to honor past games while pushing forward into new territory with a 2035 timeline in multiplayer.

“We are working hard to preserve and expand the Delta Force franchise,” he said, almost like he was addressing a gathering of die-hard fans at some underground convention. The team has been grinding away to ensure that what they deliver resonates with new and experienced players.
The campaign mode is slated for release in Q1 2025 (January), which feels like ages away, especially if you’re itching to explore back into tactical warfare, but hey, good things come to those who wait, right? Guo reassured us that updates will roll out as we approach launch day, so keep those eyes peeled!
This brings us back to the question: what do you think about Delta Force steering clear of Battle Royale? Are you relieved or disappointed? I’ve seen enough battle royales for one lifetime; sometimes, you want good old-fashioned squad tactics without having half the map trying to take your head off before you even land!
