Ubisoft has recently treated us to some exciting gameplay clips from their upcoming title, Assassin’s Creed Shadows. These sneak peeks highlight the intricate combat mechanics at players’ fingertips, showcasing a variety of planning that both Yasuke and Naoe can employ as they explore 16th-century Japan.
This game is set against the lively backdrop of the Azuchi-Momoyama era, where players will delve into the intertwined stories of Naoe and Yasuke during a tumultuous period in Japanese history. As they face challenges together, they’ll uncover their shared destinies while contributing to a transformative chapter for Japan.
Naoe brings agility to the battlefield with quick movements, wielding weapons like the Katana, Kusarigama, and a hidden blade. In contrast, Yasuke embodies raw power as he takes on enemies with his Long Katana and formidable arsenal, including a Naginata and a Flint rifle. Each character promises unique gameplay experiences:
- Naoe: Quick strikes using Katana, Kusarigama, tanto dagger.
- Yasuke: Heavy-hitting attacks with Long Katana, Kanabo, Yumi Bow.
Both characters will have access to dodging skills alongside blocking and parrying abilities, which adds an exciting layer to encounters. Players can anticipate special skills tailored for each character and think about how satisfying it might feel to execute a perfectly timed counterattack!
You won’t have to wait long; Assassin’s Creed Shadows will release on February 14th. Interestingly enough, it won’t require an always-online connection for play, a relief for many gamers! I’m curious about what kind of PC requirements we’ll see when they’re revealed. Will we get any Ray Tracing effects? Only time will tell!
If you’re excited to see more specific mechanics in action, check out these deep explorations of various combat techniques, which definitely seem to me like they are all from For Honor. It just gives me that type of feeling.
