The latest patch brings some spooky changes and much-needed fixes.

7 days to die

So, it’s that time again and another patch has dropped for 7 Days to Die. This one’s got a bit of everything: some tweaks that make the Blood Moon feel even more like a chaotic rave than usual, plus some quality-of-life fixes that should help keep your head attached during those nail-biting moments. You know, the kind where you’re just trying to survive but end up staring down a horde of zombies with nothing but a rusty spoon.

This minor update is all about optimizing your survival experience while ensuring those bloodthirsty fiends don’t throw too wild of a party. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t want their apocalypse slightly less glitchy? Oh, the joys of independent game development! So grab your gear and let’s dive into what TFP (The Fun Pimps) has served us this weekend.

Patch Notes

V1.2 b26 EXP

    • Added
      • Blood moon party maximum active enemy count with increased game stage scaling based on the full count
    • Changed
      • Optimized vehicles to not use a container object
      • Increased blood moon party distance to add players
    • Fixed
      • Invisible character when being transported out of trader on vehicle
      • Vehicle camera position glitches when origin shift happens
      • EntityFactory GetEntityType warnings from missing types

You might be scratching your head about that Blood Moon party change. I mean, can we really call it a “party” when half the attendees are trying to eat your face? But hey, if they’re going to ramp up the enemy count based on how well you’re doing in-game, well, that just means more practice dodging those pesky zombies. They’ve turned our favorite nightmare into an actual challenge instead of just mindless carnage.

The optimization for vehicles is also worth noting. It seems TFP finally decided that cars shouldn’t have their own apartment complex inside them. Who knew? Less clutter means fewer chances for bugs, like that invisible character bug, hopefully, when leaving traders on vehicles. Let me tell you, running around without knowing if you’re there or just an ethereal spirit floating through the wasteland can lead to some serious existential crises.

If you’re anything like me, and I hope you are, you probably love diving into every nook and cranny these updates provide. They can change how we approach strategies in-game dramatically! I mean, who hasn’t had their plans go sideways because they didn’t realize their trusty vehicle would suddenly decide it was time for a mid-ride disappearing act?

You can check out all the juicy details straight from The Fun Pimps themselves here. And as always, I’d love to hear what you think about these changes! Will they make surviving easier or introduce new chaos? Drop your thoughts below, or scream them at your screen while playing!

Until next time, see you around!
