It all goes in a circle, as Bethesda and id Software revealed multiple new details about DOOM: The Dark Ages during QuakeCon 2024. Judging by the details, the game promises to be much bigger but also maintain the fast-paced and brutal gameplay it always had.

Everyone would love to hear that The Dark Ages will be much bigger than the previous titles. So, let’s take a peek at the details below.

DOOM: The Dark Ages Details Reveled

  • The game’s world will be much bigger, and it will move away from linear paths, which is very different from its predecessors.
  • There will also be some new medieval arsenal coming to the game, and the weapons and their mechanics will feel fresh to the whole player base.
  • Three new melee weapons will become your wielding power, and those are Flair, Mace, and Fists. Each one of them will have different powers.
  • Also, 3 new weapons have been revealed and those are the Double-Barrel Plasma Shotgun and the Single-Barrel Shotgun. Each of these will pack the necessary firepower to eliminate the demons on your way.
  • A saw shield will also be available, which can be used to move across the territory in an unusual way.
  • The game will have less verticality than Doom Eternal.
  • The Glory Kill system will be revamped
  • Last but not least, there will be Mechs that players can pilot throughout the campaign. They will have a special HUD that will make the players feel unbeatable.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is the single-player, action FPS prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. You are the DOOM Slayer, the legendary demon-killing warrior fighting endlessly against Hell. Experience the epic cinematic origin story of the DOOM Slayer’s rage in 2025.

This DOOM title seems like it will be the right one for all DOOM fans, just as with most other DOOM titles. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments below!
