Gamescom PUBG Invitational: The Beginning of Something Big

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

These days, the cyber sport is what counts. Competitive gaming pays out quite right. Competitive games like Dota 2, CS: GO, Rainbow Six Siege and others offer a chance to earn money for a decent life. From an average Entertainment to a Global Scale Competitive Esports Scene. All of the prizes the developing companies offer for competing in their games are also big, making room for new players to achieve something in their life by playing their favorite games.

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds

PUBG Invitational

The event where PUBG’s competitive scene comes to life. At the right time, best era, a record-breaking game appears on the market. It’s not just any kind of game; It’s Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, the game with the highest concurrent users count. As you know, Bluehole has decided to host a competitive event for PUBG at this year’s Gamescom, letting players compete not just for the prestige but also for a fair Prize. Since the event is Invitational, most of the Twitch Streamers have been invited to attend the event in Germany and compete against some other top tier players.

What I love to point out is that this event is just the beginning of something big. Speaking of Twitch, it is the very best reason to think that PUBG is the next gen Esports competitive game. There are a lot of reasons to prove why it is the “next best”.

  • Most Twitch views and the first game to break League of Legends’ traditional viewer count.
  • A chance to gather 100 players at one place and make them clash each other.

Have you ever seen 100 players fighting for the last man standing spot before the PUBG Invitational? Nope. Simple as that.

Prepare for PUBG’s Future

Now I am just thinking, what would happen if Bluehole decides to create something like Dota 2’s Compendium before every single Major tournament or TI? This is the reason why the PUBG Invitational is the beginning of Something Big. The prize pool is going to be huge.

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds future is a pure success, and there’s nothing further to talk about that subject. PUBG Invitational Stream view count was roughly around 120k people, which is another big number even if the event is not that qualified and known for hosting tournaments. Smelling something fishy? Yeah, it seems more like a test run for what’s about to come in future. You better mark my words and wait for PUBG’s next competitive event for which I think is going to blow everyone’s minds.

In the meantime, if you missed today’s matches of the PUBG Invitational in Gamescom 2017, take a look at the video below:

I've spent half of my life playing video games, ever since the competitive 1.6 era. Now I am happily married to Margarita Kicevski, and have two beautiful children. My goal is to deliver fresh news and updates, but most of the time I want to work on guides. Since I have rebooted this website, I am planning on making it huge. Just you wait!

Yeah, maybe in next event we will have even more players playing without sound and ESL not resetting the game for them.
