The indie game studio Predict Edumedia has released Arhaekon, into Steam Early Access. If you’re into tactical turn-based roguelike dungeon-crawlers set in a grim, dark fantasy world, then you’d better sit down because this one’s got your name written all over it.
Arhaekon is the kind of game that takes inspiration from Warhammer 40k, Path of Exile, Darkest Dungeon, and Disciples 2. Picture this: you’re binding warriors, battling through corruption, scavenging treasures, and trying to piece together a world that’s pretty much on life support.
Arhaekon features 14 distinct regions with its own theme and enemies, 12 unique unit types for strategic combat, and a corruption system. It’s like walking a tightrope with weights on your ankles, you gotta be on your toes, and if that wasn’t enough, you’ve got complex unit and resource management to deal with, so talk about a test of skill.
What’s remarkable is the game’s procedural music, a currency system that keeps you on your toes, crafting, camp management, and punishing decision-making that could make or break your expedition. They’re also throwing in community-driven development, so your feedback matters.
