We have been heard indeed! Rainbow Six Siege is going to receive dedicated servers. Thanks to the update 2.2.2 while Operation Health is still in force, the game should feel a lot different than before. Patch 2.2.2 is scheduled to come to live today, August 9, and will come on all platforms at the same time.
As Ubisoft stated in the past that there are going to be an improved servers, it will be more than fun to just involve ourselves in the newest update. Rainbow Six Siege needed this changes long time ago, and now it’s finally getting them.
Dedicated Servers
There will be dedicated servers for different types of games. Even if custom matches have been hosted on dedicated servers since February 2016, the requirement to host a game will now be reduced. You’ll no longer need to have a full lobby in order to host the custom game and no more will be hosted via peer-to-peer. Speaking of Dedicated Servers, Terrorist Hunt will receive a host migration and every game will be hosted on dedicated servers. Everyone loves to have more stable experience and a fair game. That’s why these new features count towards a better Rainbow Six Siege experience. No more peer-to-peer headaches.
The new update is going to offer new Dedicated Servers for in-game voice chat with Vivos Integration. This means the game will get rid of peer-to-peer voice chat which should result in a better and smoother gameplay. I mean, dedicated servers cannot have any bad impact on the game.
New Content, Cosmetics
As always, Ubisoft love to release new content to the game, so all the cosmetic fans can just enjoy the new Elite Pulse Set: “Lucky Seventh” which is going to unlock additional weapon skins for other weapons.
Vaulting Animation Improvement
This fix should definitely lead towards a better hitreg. Vaulting through a window will now show where the vaulter is aiming at.
Overall, Ubisoft has finally started listening to the community. Hopefully, this is not where Ubisoft stops. There’s nothing better than having Peer to Peer completely removed. It’s what everyone loved to see. There are some bug fixes deployed within patch 2.2.2, and you can find them below as stated on the official website:
