So after yesterday’s Team Liquid’s loss, it seems like everything went down in the water. The second upper bracket game between Newbee and Evil Geniuses was even more shocking, without EG taking even 1 round in a Best of Three.
This might become the strangest TI event in terms of surprises. The Underdogs know how to take advantage and that’s what just happened. Especially in The International, everyone can beat everyone, it’s just simple as that.
After Team Liquid’s disappointing performance, Evil Geniuses has done the same and now both of them need to fight their way through the lower bracket. A loss in the early stage of the main event is hard to handle. The losses must have a heart breaking impact on both of them. Later Today, Team Liquid will face against Team Secret while Evil Geniuses will face Team Empire.
In the lower bracket, yesterday’s matches between OG vs Infamous and IG Vitality vs Digital Chaos had the expected outcome where OG and Digital Chaos advanced further.
Now, OG will have to wait for the match in the upper bracket between LGD.ForeverYoung and TNC Pro Team. The loser of those two teams will play against OG who’s patiently waiting in the lower bracket. We’ve seen OG coming back from a tough situation like this one, and it won’t surprise us all if they manage to succeed to the lower bracket finals.
Digital Chaos will have wait for the match between LGD Gaming and Virtus Pro. The losing team will join the lower bracket as it will battle against Digital Chaos. The International is the most favorite event for the underdogs (Black Horses) as there has always been a team in the previous TI events that have managed to develop such an unpleasant surprise for the tougher teams.
We’re ready for more Dota as Day 2 of the main event will bring Team Liquid and Team Secret face to face. It’s going to be more than fun to witness the outcome of that match. EG and Team Secret are both crowd’s favorite, and it’s going to be heart breaking not just for one of the teams but both for the supporters.
