It seems that Larian is not stopping here with Baldur’s Gate 3, as the developer is planning to add a modding support soon. The modding support will be available later this year, and it will quite probably bring diversity to it.
This has been revealed on Twitter, thanks to Michael Douse, head of Larian Studios who has revealed that’s been working on cross-platform mod support. The plan remains straightforward, and boy-o-boy this is going to shuffle things around.
Douse said: “We generally don’t talk about things til they’re ready, but as you may have read, we’re making an exception“, and he also revealed that they’ve been working on a robust cross-platform plan that will support mods throughout this year. He also said:
“We have a system, but it needs to be tested and still requires work. We’re excited about it. I understand that it sucks when the game is updated and mods break. Our community teams will start talking with and looping in modding community. For now, work continues.”
We generally don’t talk about things til they’re ready, but as you may have read, we’re making an exception. We’ve been working on a robust, cross-platform plan for mod support to be released later in year. We love our modding community and we want to support them. It’s coming. https://t.co/54GsxNshlQ
