Bethesda Game Studios has postponed the beta launch of Starfield’s most significant update yet. The delay, caused by an unforeseen issue the studio wishes to resolve, means the beta version will be released later in the week, with a global launch scheduled for two weeks afterward. Bethesda will announce the exact beta launch date once it’s firmly decided.
This forthcoming update is anticipated to bring more than 100 enhancements, including refined lighting, textures, and shadows, improved sun disk geometry, and corrected planet ring shadows. It will also address quest issues such as Eye of the Storm and Into the Unknown.
Fans should expect comprehensive patch notes and additional details when the update is available later in the week. Starfield can be played on Xbox Series X/S and PC and is also accessible via Game Pass. Bethesda has outlined plans for regular updates every six weeks starting in February, introducing features like new ship decorations, varied gameplay options including modifications to carry capacity, and enhanced survival mechanics. Moreover, the first narrative expansion, titled Shattered Space, is slated for release later in the year.
