Deep Rock Galactic has wholly blown past eight million sales across all the platforms, a massive jump from the 5.5 million they had last year. It’s been growing non-stop since it first came out on PC and Xbox One in 2020, and when it hit the PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2022.
2023 was a particularly fantastic year for them, with sales topping 2.567 million copies. That’s some severe growth year after year. The game, which is this cool mix of FPS and mining, has got more people playing daily. We’re talking about daily active users hitting 150,300, up from 113,700 the year before. And monthly users? They’ve shot up to over a million!
Players are getting into it, too. On Steam, the average player spends 46 hours in the game. Nearly 800,000 players have played for over 100 hours! That’s dedication. And it seems like most players end up meeting their doom because of fall damage, those pesky Glyphid Grunts, or, you know, accidentally getting taken out by a teammate.
Ghost Ship Games isn’t just sitting back and enjoying its success. They’re actually expanding the Deep Rock Galactic world with two new games. There’s Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, which is like a survival game set to hit early access early in 2024. And then there’s Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, a roguelite cooperative shooter, though we don’t know when that one’s coming out yet.
