Following the remarkable success of Dead Cells, indie developer Motion Twin has become quite familiar. The team recently splashed at The Game Awards, unveiling their upcoming project, Windblown. This new game marks a notable shift from their previous work, introducing a 3D roguelite action experience wrapped in a vibrant and colorful design.
Players will step into the shoes of Leaper, a hero tasked with defending the Ark from the destructive force known as the Vortex. One of the game’s standout features is the ability to absorb memories from fallen warriors. These memories can then be infused into your weapons, offering a strategic layer to the gameplay. The game also supports single-player and 2-player co-op modes, promising a versatile and engaging experience.
The announcement trailer, embedded above, provides a glimpse into the game’s dynamic world and its bright, immersive aesthetic. The trailer showcases the game’s innovative mechanics and its lush, detailed environments, setting the stage for what could be another hit from Motion Twin.
Windblown is scheduled to launch in early access on Steam in 2024.
