7 Days to Die V2.1 b7 Update Brings Bug Fixes and New Building Pieces

7 Days to Die has received its V2.1 b7 update, focusing mainly on fixing bugs and adding a few new building components. If you’ve been playing and noticed some odd behaviors or exploits, this patch should smooth things out and add some fresh options for your base designs.

The developers, The Fun Pimps (TFP), have included some new wedge and ramp shapes in the shape menu, which will give players more flexibility when constructing. There’s also a new recipe for curtains and drapes, plus hanging logs to decorate or reinforce your structures.

One interesting addition is the XML conditional function called “has_entitlement,” which allows the game to check if a user owns a specific entitlement. This might open doors for more personalized game events or content in the future.

Several bugs have been addressed, including some exploits involving item swapping and perks, as well as an Xbox Series X/S lighting glitch. Players using ultra-wide monitors will be glad to hear that hazard screen effects now stretch properly in wasteland and snow biomes. Storm particles won’t fall inside POIs anymore, which was a bit odd to see before.

Here’s a detailed rundown of what changed since V2.1 b5:

Added

  • Wedge60 Tip 1/2 Ramp Tip 1/2 Corner Left and Right added to the shape menu
  • Wedge60 Tip 1/2 Ramp Tip 1/2 Corner Incline Left and Right added to the shape menu
  • Localization added for several Points of Interest (POIs)
  • Curtains and Drapes Variant Helper and recipe introduced
  • Hanging Log 1 and 2 added
  • XML conditional function “has_entitlement” for checking user entitlements
  • Game Event Action for completing challenges added

Changed

  • Game event game_on_respawn_permanent updated to remove biome badges and reset hazard timers to default
  • Hanging Corpse Log 1-3 now downgrades to Hanging Log 1 or 2
  • Localization updated for Shepherd’s Pie
  • “Animation queue full” warning removed
  • Storm particles no longer fall inside POIs

Fixed

  • Hazard Screen Effect for Wasteland and Snow Biomes now stretches properly on ultra-wide resolutions
  • Permadeath correctly drops player backpack again
  • Hotswapping item consumable exploit fixed
  • Miner’s Mending perk no longer halves very important injury repeatedly when swapping mining tools
  • Xbox Series X/S lighting issue fixed
  • Modding bug fixed: Lootable zombies no longer have localized names
  • Setting storms to 0% now cancels current biome storms immediately
  • Zombies dying from old age no longer drop bags
  • Colliders on iron and wooden cellar doors adjusted to remove a thin gap that allowed wallclip exploits
  • Players can report POI placed signs again as the signs have no author
  • AI run away task now responds properly to player noise

Wow, that’s quite a list! Have you encountered any of these issues yourself? Or are you excited to try out the new building pieces? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
