5 upcoming Escape From Tarkov features that will redefine the game

Fans of realistic shooters usually mend their primary game, and so do I, too. Speaking for myself, I typically want to talk about Escape From Tarkov and how the game evolved over the past couple of years. With tons of wipes since 2017, when I got introduced to this military sim, I consider myself qualified to talk about the EFT universe. Over the past, Battlestate Games has tackled the game’s development from multiple perspectives, and we’re very thankful for that. But, there’s still one issue lingering around: the missing content that everyone’s looking for. Even if for a moment you decided to take a break from Escape From Tarkov, I just want to remind you of a couple of upcoming features that are planned to arrive, hopefully, this holiday.

Escape From Tarkov is not an ordinary game. Instead, it’s a game of massive caliber with tons of mechanics under its hood. Escape From Tarkov already obscures multiple other survival games that have a substantial impact on the genre itself. A game that has one of the best ideas. We all mend our beloved first-person realistic shooter, Escape From Tarkov, and we’re eager to see multiple implementations becoming accessible soon. Recently, we have been stuck at the addition of Nvidia Reflex and the Gun Jam mechanic, and it hasn’t gone anywhere past that.

The stall of content in Escape From Tarkov

Currently, Escape From Tarkov is in Early Access, or Early Beta Phase. Call it however you want. Speaking of its current state, the game is slightly falling behind in terms of content. Whether it is an array of bugs and issues dismantling the main focus of Battlestate Games, or something else, the developer has fallen behind in creating entertainment and providing new content. The shooter keeps ongoing, still breathing, but hardcore players, especially streamers and influencers, have slowly started unhooking themselves of the Escape From Tarkov life.

Before the installation of Nvidia Reflex and the tiring bug fixes released in a consecutive sensation by Battlestate Games, we had Reserve. A vast military base map with new Scav Boss and minions, including raiders. It was the only map to include raiders past Labs. That’s pretty much the last vital, and significant content update Escape From Tarkov had received back in the past. But playing Reserve is not as attractive as it was before, as everyone is well aware of its surroundings. According to myself, it’s still the best map ever created and proof that Battlestate Games operates with some of the best designers on the market.

5 upcoming Escape From Tarkov features that will redefine the game

Without further ado and stall on the subject, let’s look at the five very important features coming to the game. Some of which are destined to increase the number of consecutive players for quite a bit.

Static Shadow Distance Rendering

Escape From Tarkov 0.12.11.5 will include new changes correlated to the shadow distance rendering. No one would ever be able to cheese the shadow rendering as it will be the same for every player, with a minimum shadow rendering distance of 500m, regardless of the customary quality settings.

Unity 2019 Migration and DLSS support

I thought the developer already migrated to Unity 2019, but it turns out it didn’t. The migration will happen with update 12.11.6 and is also supposed to introduce a new feature that will contribute to a much better in-game performance. The FPS has always been an issue and it’s very dependant on the map size, player capacity, and obviously graphics settings.

Anti-Cheat Improvement

Battlestate Games is aware of the waves of cheaters in Escape From Tarkov, and it’s working at its best capacity to prevent them from joining the game once and for all. The developer is planning to install a brand “3 new modules” to its anti-cheat system, which will increase its reaction time and cheat detection speed.

Inertia

For those unfamiliar with Inertia, this is the definition: a property of matter by which it continues in its existing state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line unless an external force changes that state”. This means there will no longer be insanely fast peeking thanks to the overpowered strafe left and strafe right movements, as everything, including the player strength and weight, will be accounted for.

Lighthouse, Daily Quests, VoIP

We know that we said 5 features, but Daily Quests, VoIP, and Lighthouse are all accounted as one as they are planned to arrive within one patch. Patch 12.12 is intended to introduce all of this together, and with the daily quests feature and a new map, I could easily predict a massive influx of players.

So, what do you think about the upcoming features/changes in Escape From Tarkov? Good or bad? Exciting or not? Let us know in the comments down below!
