2XKO patch 1.0.1.2 removes Warwick’s handshake escape and fixes collision bugs

Patch 1.0.1.2 addresses champion collision, removes Warwick’s Handshake Tag escape, adjusts Ekko and Yasuo, and schedules downtime for October 21.

Riot’s 2XKO patch 1.0.1.2 arrives with a handful of fixes aimed at some of the most annoying matchmaking-era bugs: champions slipping through each other, a specific Warwick escape interaction, and a few quirks in Ekko and Yasuo’s kits. The update is timed with a short maintenance window on Tuesday, October 21.

The most significant quality-of-life change is to collision. In certain cramped situations, corners, or when multiple champions were on-screen, characters could pass through each other instead of trading hits. The patch corrects that, so characters no longer become trapped when surrounded by two other champions, and push properties in corner-steal scenarios with assists have been equalized for left and right starting positions.

Warwick gets a targeted fix: the patch removes the interaction where he would “fly away” after a Handshake Tag out of Spinning Slicer in Freestyle Fuse, the most irritating escape technique players reported. The update also stops his Ankle Swipe/Primal Leap combos from dropping on Yasuo.

Ekko no longer leaves a lingering smoke effect from his ultimate, and Yasuo has a correction to Turbulent Wind so the second and third hits scale correctly. The patch also addresses crashes during champion selection and improves online match stability. Riot is adding a home-screen widget that shows the 2XKO server status and upcoming downtime.

Patch 1.0.1.2 goes live on Tuesday, October 21. Online play will be unavailable during the maintenance window from 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST / 6pm CEST until 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST / 10pm CEST. For the official, complete changelog consult Riot’s full patch notes.

Hey everyone. Patch 1.0.1.2 goes live on October 21. It’s a light patch that focuses on fixing a few major bugs, so we’re keeping this article short and sweet.

Heads up: online play will be unavailable on October 21 between 9am and 1pm PT while we implement the changes below. You can still play Offline mode during this time.

Let’s get into it.

These hotfixes are already live, so you might’ve heard about them on socials. Since they went out after our last patch notes article, we’re documenting them here.

  • Some higher-tier Champion Mastery missions are now easier to complete.
  • The rotating store now refreshes weekly instead of biweekly.

Upcoming Bug Fixes

These changes are going live on October 21, as part of patch 1.0.1.2.

Collision

  • Champions no longer pass through each other unexpectedly, particularly when in the corner and using Assists.
    • This change was especially noticeable with corner-stealing moves, such as Ekko’s Phase Dive () or Warwick’s Wrath of the Beast ( with Bloodlust active) with multiple champions on-screen.
  • Champions no longer become “trapped” when at the center of the screen and pinned between two champions, and can now be pushed as normal.
  • Champions starting on the left (Player 1 side) and right (Player 2 side) now have the same corner priority properties when performing a corner steal with Assists.

Champions

Ekko

  • Fixed a bug where Arcane Ekko would sometimes leave behind a smoke effect after Attempt #37 (Ultimate).

Warwick

  • Warwick no longer flies away after Handshake Tagging out of Spinning Slicer (mid-air ) in Freestyle Fuse. Goodbye, updog.
  • Warwick’s Ankle Swipe () > Primal Leap () combos no longer drop on Yasuo.

Yasuo

  • Yasuo’s Turbulent Wind (mid-air or standing ) now applies damage scaling correctly, lowering his damage output for his common combos and routes.
    • Damage scaling applies on the second and third hit, totalling 20%.

Miscellaneous

  • Added a widget to the main menu that shows current server status and upcoming downtime.
Fixed a bug that was causing crashes when entering the Champion Select screen.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing users to frequently disconnect from matches.
  • Fixed a bug where users were getting stuck on the rank promotion screen that appears at the end of rank-up matches. Pressing the confirmation button will now skip the animation properly.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing memory leaks when playing consecutive matches.
  • Fixed a bug where Ranked points were displayed incorrectly on the Grandmaster leaderboard.
