IO Interactive confirmed that 007 First Light will launch on 27th March 2026 for PS5, and pre-orders are expected to go live shortly, giving players a precise date for the studio’s James Bond debut ahead of next year’s release cycle.
The reveal came at the end of IO Interactive’s State of Play showcase, where footage from two missions was shown and the team walked through some of the game’s systems and combat beats. The State of Play showcase featured two missions and a narrated demonstration of espionage and combat, showcasing how the studio blends Hitman-style stealth with more overt action and vehicle sequences, presenting a clear mix of stealth, improvised melee, and shootouts across varied set pieces.
Pre-order incentives were detailed too – anyone who pre-orders will receive an upgrade to the Deluxe Edition that includes four bonus outfits, an additional weapon skin, and the Gleaming Pack. Pre-orders are expected soon. Early reactions to the stream noted some rough patches, with viewers flagging motion blur and uneven frame pacing in certain set pieces such as the plane sequence, but plenty of commenters praised the mix of stealth and action on display.
