Team Vitality’s remarkable 131-day winning streak in CS:GO came to an unexpected halt at the Austin Major, but star player Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut is already looking ahead. Despite their loss to Legacy, ZywOo’s attitude is clear: the team will reset and chase new success.
Before the Austin Major, Team Vitality had been unstoppable since February 1st, sweeping through multiple tournaments without defeat. The streak included wins at IEM Katowice (the last edition ever), ESL Pro League Season 21, BLAST Open Spring 2025, ESL Grand Slam, IEM Melbourne, BLAST Rivals Spring 2025, and IEM Dallas. Their momentum seemed unbreakable.
But then Legacy appeared in Austin, Texas, and dealt a heavy blow to Vitality’s run. The loss was tough, yet it hasn’t shaken the team’s spirit. In a post-match chat with Gaming World Media’s Jake Lucky, ZywOo emphasized that losing the streak was no disaster.
“It doesn’t matter. Even before starting this Major, we said if we lose the win streak, it’s fine – we’re gonna make a new one.”
“It doesn’t matter if we lose the win streak. It’s kind of good for us, when we lost to Legacy. I think it was just a slap in our face to release the pressure.”
Interestingly, ZywOo also addressed the crowd’s reactions, particularly the booing Vitality often receives. Far from being bothered, he revealed it fuels their energy.
“We love to be booed, it gives us energy.”
“It doesn’t matter.”
“Next time we will do the middle finger and they will boo us again.”
Vitality’s in-game leader, apEX, shared a similar stance during an interview with Sjokz on the main stage, stating:
“Just scream on us, boo us, I don’t give a f*ck.”

Despite the end of their long streak, Team Vitality remains a dominant force. They’ve already knocked out major opponents like Natus Vincere and MOUZ in Austin, and only The MongolZ or paiN Gaming stand between them and another trophy.
