Although the PlayStation Blog lists suggested titles in each category, voters can type in their own choices if a favorite is missing. That means there isn’t a fixed nominees list and the polls will reflect both Sony’s prompts and community write-ins. Results are due to be revealed in a few weeks, and winners will receive Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Trophies. Between first-party releases and smaller indies, 2025 has been a busy year on PlayStation. For a sense of how packed the calendar is right now, see our roundup of releases in early December, with 13 plus PS5 and PS4 games arriving the week of December 1st, which highlights the variety of games players can consider for their votes.
ConsolePCGaming will be starting our own Game of the Year conversations around Christmas, and titles like Ghost of Yotei and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 have already begun collecting awards and attention from other outlets. Please leave a comment with your picks and follow us on X, Bluesky, and YouTube to stay updated and tell us which games you think deserve the top spots.
