Ibai Llanos has done it again, smashing Twitch’s concurrent viewership record with his event La Velada del Año 5. This time, the Spanish streamer hit a massive peak of 10.8 million viewers. Naturally, some folks online questioned his achievement, but Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel wasn’t having any of it and jumped in to defend Ibai.
Twitch’s Spanish-speaking community has consistently delivered huge numbers. Remember TheGrefg pulling in over 2.4 million viewers during his Fortnite Icons skin reveal? That was wild. But Ibai’s events have become something else entirely, filling stadiums and pulling in millions more at home.
Ibai’s La Velada del Año series has steadily grown over the years. Starting with 3.3 million viewers, then 3.4 million, followed by a huge jump to 6.7 million, and now 10.8 million in 2025. Some Twitch viewers tried to downplay this new record, which is kinda surprising given the sheer scale.
xQc didn’t hold back when responding to the doubters. He pointed out how funny it is when new streamers and viewers act like they know Twitch history and then suddenly question Ibai’s success. According to xQc, trying to insult someone who just pulled 11 million viewers is just ironic.
He even singled out one critic by jokingly calling him “Gamer, Overwatch? Case settled!” It’s a reminder that Ibai’s achievement is no small feat, and xQc’s backing gives him some serious street cred.
Ibai might not top the 10.8 million mark every time, but with support like this, he’s definitely got backup if anyone tries to challenge his place in Twitch history.
What do you think? Can anyone else hit these numbers soon?
