Xbox will release more games on rival platforms

The last few months Xbox fans were soaked with rumors about first-party games hopping onto rival platforms. The whispers started small but grew louder and more frequent, eventually prompting Xbox to break its silence. Phil Spencer, Xbox’s head, initially downplayed the situation, saying that while a few games might venture out.

In a recent IGN First interview, Spencer confirmed what many suspected: more Xbox games will be available on other platforms. “You are going to see more of our games on more platforms, and we just see that as a benefit to the franchises that we’re building, and we see that from players, and the players love to be able to play,” Spencer stated.

This statement starkly contrasts what was said just a few months ago. Spencer’s words reassured fans that Xbox wasn’t abandoning its exclusives back then. Now, it feels like the strategy has flipped entirely. The core of this shift seems to be “Project Latitude,” which, according to rumors, is all about evaluating which games could be shared with rival platforms.

The chaos surrounding Xbox’s plans is seemingly within Xbox itself. It seems that some individuals within the company are leaking news to the press and influencers. But it’s hard to say what this means for Xbox and its fans?
