Microsoft is rolling out a feature allowing Xbox PC app users to access their Steam, Battle.net, and other PC game libraries in one place. Currently available only to Xbox Insiders, this update aims to simplify how you find and launch your games across platforms.
Announced alongside the new ROG Xbox Ally gaming handhelds, the Xbox PC app update lets you see and launch games from multiple storefronts without switching apps. Xbox said in a blog post that this aggregated gaming library will bring your Xbox library, hundreds of Game Pass titles, and installed games from other PC stores right to your fingertips, whether on a Windows PC or a handheld device.
You need to join the Xbox Insider program to try it out. Xbox hasn’t explicitly confirmed Steam support yet, but it’s clear that Steam integration is in the pipeline, leaving fans curious about when it’ll officially arrive.
Here’s a quick look at what Xbox said:
“With the aggregated gaming library, players can conveniently launch games from Xbox, Game Pass, Battle.net, and other leading PC storefronts from a single library within the Xbox PC app.”
CharlieIntel shared a sneak peek on Twitter, showing how the Xbox PC app will soon display all your owned games across various PC platforms in one place. It’s a neat idea that might help tame your sprawling library, no more juggling between Steam and Battle.net apps to find something to play.
Will this push PC gaming towards a more unified experience? Maybe. Could it reduce the clutter of managing multiple launchers? I’d say so. But what about other storefronts like Epic Games Store or GOG? Those remain questions for another day.
